About GOA

Travelling within GOA

There are many options for you to get around in Goa. Public transport largely consists of privately operated buses linking the major towns to rural areas. A popular mode of transportation in Goa is the motorcycle taxi, operated by drivers who are locally called 'pilots'.

(A) Bicycle Rentals

Hire geared or non-geared bike on “per day” basis. It is easily available near all the main parts of the towns in Goa, even in villages. The price range is Rs. 200 to Rs. 350 per day depending on the kind of bike.

(B) Two-Wheeler Taxis

Another great option for local traveling in Goa is the two-wheeler taxis also known as motorcycle taxis or pilots. In these taxis, you sit as a pillion rider behind a motorbike rider and reach any place for a fixed amount. Can be used for long or short distances.

(C) Auto rickshaws or Cabs

If you want comfort and convenience then you can rent a cab in Goa. The least cost effective way to travel– no meter system and you can be charged more. You can avail the pre-paid taxi service from the airport that follows a standard amount based on number of kilometres. Auto rickshaws don’t go by meter and usually have a fixed price up to major points.

(D) Local bus service

Local private buses in Goa have a wide network even in the remotest areas. It is a cheaper mode of transport than others. Madgaon and Panjim are two major bus stations in Goa. You will get buses to most of the places from here.
